Two legendary Hawaiian sisters get into a tiff again on Rainbow Shower turf

Introduction

In order to fully appreciate this story, one needs to be familiar with Hawaiian deities and legends. The story of the two feuding sisters - Goddesses Namaka and Pele - is a Polynesian classic. Namaka is the goddess of oceans and storms. Pele is the goddess of fire and volcanoes. As in nature, where water and fire are enemies, the two sisters were at each other's throats most of the time. But not always. The happy murmuring of the Namaka Creek right next to my shaman's altar where I do fire ceremonies to honor Pele and volcano spirits is an example of happy coexistence. HAIKU, Maui, March 22, 2012 - Who says the Spirit doesn't have a sense of humor? Sometimes we take ourselves and our spirituality too seriously. And we need to be reminded to lighten up. Smile. Laugh at ourselves.

Every once in a while, our guides and teachers use levity to teach us important lessons. What happened on March 22 , the New Moon day, was a case in point. The Divine message was a reminder to yours truly that he is not the one who is in charge. And the Spirit used humor and two Hawaiian deities to deliver the message.

Check out this short film. It will put a smile on your face. I can almost guarantee it. And that's always a good thing, isn't it?

Finally, here's "Rainbow Shower" sunset... "Pele in the Sky" might be a good title for this painting-like photo. This is where she seems to have the upper hand over her sister Namaka. :-)
